What is the Knowledge Base?
The Knowledge Base in Ordemio Dashboard is where you provide context and information to your AI agent.
⚠️ Note: Adding knowledge does not mean fine-tuning the AI model itself.
Instead, Ordemio uses retrieval-augmented generation (RAG). This means the knowledge you add is retrieved and used as context to generate accurate and precise answers.
💡 Best practice: Provide less but higher-quality information. Focus on reliable, concise, meaningful content — not large amounts of irrelevant data.
Types of Data Sources
The Knowledge Base supports multiple data sources:
Websites
Files
YouTube
Q&A
Applications
We’ll go through each type below.
1. Websites
Add pages from your website so the AI can use them as a source of answers.
Go to the Ordemio Dashboard → Knowledge.
Click Website > Add website.
Enter the URL of the page you want to parse.
To add only a specific page → enter its URL and keep the Recursive toggle OFF.
To parse multiple pages from a site → enter the root domain and turn the Recursive toggle ON.
⚠️ Note: Recursive crawling will fetch all links on the site, including marketing or irrelevant pages. It’s usually better to target specific pages.
Advanced options:
Include only URLs containing → e.g.
/articles/→ only pages with/articles/in the URL will be parsed.Exclude all URLs containing → e.g.
/collections/→ pages with/collections/will be excluded.
👉 When adding websites, exclude low-value sections like collections, tags, cloud, or pagination, and include only article or documentation pages.
After setup, click Add. The website will be parsed, and only the filtered pages will be included in the knowledge base.
You can then click on the added website to see:
Title
URL
Training status
Character count
Last trained date
Options:
🗑️ Delete
🔄 Update → re-train if the source page has changed.
2. Files
Upload documents that the AI can search through when replying.
In Knowledge > Files, click Add file.
Drag and drop or upload a supported file from your computer.
Provide a title that reflects the content (improves searchability and training).
Click Add.
3. YouTube
Use video captions as a knowledge source for the AI.
Go to Knowledge > YouTube.
Click Add video.
Paste the YouTube URL.
Click Add.
4. Q&A
Q&A lets you add fixed questions and answers that the AI will prioritize when responding.
Go to Knowledge > Q&A.
Click Add Q&A.
Add one or more similar questions in the Question field.
Write the ideal answer in the Answer field.
Click Save.
To update an existing Q&A, simply click on it and edit the fields.
💡 Business value: Use this for quick fixes or internal-only answers, without needing to update public FAQs or resync your site.
5. Applications
Connect tools like Notion or Confluence to share their content with the AI.
In Knowledge > Applications, you can connect external data sources like Notion, Confluence, or others directly into Ordemio’s knowledge base.
Why use the Knowledge Base?
Centralized training → feed reliable data sources into your AI agent in one place.
Better accuracy → RAG ensures answers are grounded in the content you add.
Flexibility → combine structured Q&A with live websites, documents, and videos.
Efficiency → add or update knowledge quickly without waiting for website syncs or publishing cycles.
💡 Best practice: Keep your knowledge base concise and relevant. More data doesn’t always mean better answers — quality and clarity matter most.
